Playstation 3 with 60GB

And you can now play all PlayStation and Playstation 2 disks in addition to any DVDs or CDs in your entertainment collection. One console does it all!

Two Trillion Calculations per Second

Sony Playstation 2 was about 320 times slower than the new PS3. The combination of IBM's "Cell" processor and an NVIDIA graphics processor work together to process two trillion calculations per second. 

The Playstation 3 with 60GB uses composte connections with conventional AV, but it also posesses a HDMI port for transferring high-def compatible uncompressed and unconverted digital picture and audio that works with HD TVs and projectors. It has a capacity for handling 128-bit pixel resolution.

Performance Gaming Like No Other

Using the PowerPC-base core at 3.2 GHz and equipped with the word's leading cell processor, the Playstation 3 with 60GB has a never before equalled Reality Synthesizer (RSX) graphics processor that runs at 550MHz.

The Playstation 3 with 60GB uses BD-ROM (Blu-ray Disc) wtih a storage maximum of 54GB, and has 256MB XDR memory with 256MB GDDR3 memory. It has the computing power of two TFLOPS (one TFLOP = 1 Trillion FLoating point Operations Per Second) and produces previously unseen graphical expressions with characters and objects that are refined with realistic movement.

There are up to 8 SPU on the Cell Broadband Engine (Synergistic Processor Units), and up to seven Bluetooth wireless controllers are supported. On top of everything else, the Sony Playstation 3 wiht 60GB has incredible Dolby 5.1 channel surround sound capability to bring the whole gaming package together. It transports you into the game.

High-accuracy Six Axis Sensing System

The developers at Sony Computer Entertainment noticed that new gamers move the game controller instinctively while playing even though what they were doing had no relation to what was happening in any given  Playstation 3 with 60GB game. So what they did was to build a high-accuracy six axis sensing system within the game controller.

This SIXAXIS sensing system detects movements made by the game controller such as pitch, roll, and yaw, and three dimensions of movement with accuracy. Future Sony Playstation 3 with 60GB games will be controlled by hand movements, such as steering a car by holding and turning the controller as if it were a steering wheel.

Even though this Playstation 3 with 60GB controller is similar in appearance to previously issued Dual Shock controllers, it lacks the abilit to interpret force feedback vibration because it doesn't work with the SIXAXIS sensing system in the new controller. Bluetooth wireless technology is used on the Cell Broadband Engine allowing use of up to seven wireless controllers simultaneously with a hot plug system.

How cool is this? When your Playstation 3 with 60GB controller runs low on power, all you do is pause the game for a bit while you connect your controller to the main console with a standard USB 2.0 cable. Then You can keep playing the game while recharging your controller's power supply automatically.

Playstation 3 with 60GB has Backward Compatibility

What a genius idea! The Sony Playstation 3 with 60GB has backward compatiblity with Playstation 1 and 2. Your Playstation 3 with 60GB can play all of your old games designed for the older systems which means you can keep playing your old favorite games without keeping your obsolete Playstation consoles.

Saving Your Game Has Never Been Easier

Playstation 3 with 60GB calls for a Compact Flash memory slot, an SD slot and Memory Stick Duo. The console is equipped with a pre-installed hard-disk drive so you can save games and/or download files from the web and store them.

Many game publishers are already backing the Sony Playstation 3 with 60GB and some of them have confirmed their games for the new Sony 60GB Playstation 3. During the E3 2006 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) which is held at Los Angeles Convention Center, there were more than thirty games displayed for the game console, such as Final Fantasy XIII, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Gran Turismo HD.
